Welcome to the Shoal Creek Academy School Website! If you have trouble finding any information, please call the school office at 770-929-1430 during school hours. Regular school hours for students are 7:35 a.m. - 2:10 p.m.  

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2020-2021 SCE School Council. 

We are seeking nominations for two Parents and two Business members (may be a parent who is a business member in our community). Our School Council serves as an advisory body that provides advice and recommendations to the school principal and, where appropriate, the local board of education and local school superintendent on any matter related to student achievement and school improvement.  Persons elected to the School Council will serve a two-year term provided they maintain the requirements of members as stated in Article V of the SCE School Council By-Laws.  If you are interested in nominating someone or nominating yourself to be a part of the School Council, click on the link below to complete the nominating form.

 What is the School Council?

The establishment of school councils is intended to help local boards of education by bringing parents and the community together with teachers and school administrators to create a better understanding of and mutual respect for each other's concerns and share ideas for school improvement. School councils shall represent the community of parents and businesses.

The members of the school council are accountable to the constituents they serve and shall:

1. Maintain a school-wide perspective on issues;

2. Regularly participate in school council meetings;

3. Participate in information and training programs;

4. Act as a link between the school council and the community;

5. Encourage the participation of parents and others within the school community; and

6. Work to improve student achievement and performance.

“Technology Integration: Reading and Math”

Parents will learn how their children are integrating technology with reading and math.  Our very own Technology Teacher of the Year, Ms. Jessica Phelps will be sharing a wealth of information. Please join us for an amazing hour of hands on technological experience with reading and math.
