Shoal Creek Elementary Media Center houses well over 40,000 books and resources, and we circulate an average of 700 books each day. We are open every school day from 7:05AM through 3:00PM.

We offer a variety of services and activities, including skills lessons, research assistance, Accelerated Reader participation, The Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl and recreational reading guidance. We have seven computer stations where students may search the library catalog, work on class projects, conduct research or access the internet. The parent resource center located adjacent to the media center houses books, magazines and other resources for parents and caregivers.

Important Reminders:

  • Please encourage your children to bring their ID cards when they visit the Media Center. All students are given one free ID. If it is lost, we will replace the ID for a small fee of $3.00
  • If you are moving, please be sure to return all of your children’s library books.
  • If a book is lost or damaged, please pay the replacement cost and help us keep our library collection complete.
